![]() The response falsedawn received is a typical customer service copy&paste of someone that has to answer fifty of the same question on a daily basis. IMO, getting the Hobbico business integrated, stabilized and product back into stock are their priorities, not starting manufacturing up on what is probably the slowest selling categories. Would you like a full letter explaining every detail of their operation and intentions with property they own? You are asking an awful lot of info that is truly, NOYDB. Who know what else was hiding in the basement. There's at least a dozen kit mfr's that I can think of off the top of my head. ![]() Let's not forget all the other IP that Hobbico sucked up over the years, just to put the competition out of business. Given the direction the hobby is taking, I think you'll see a couple of the better selling kits come back as ARFs and that they'll license the designs to a kit cutter for production. If you want to survive in today's high-mix low volume kit market, you need to be quick to market and agile with your production capabilities. If I were HH, I'd let that stuff go to the next guy as well. Clint brought considerable strengths to Tower Hobbies that enabled it to provide even better prices, products and services than ever before. In 1984 Clint Atkins, a local Champaign businessman joined Tower Hobbies in an ownership capacity. You can produce a superior quality product with much less equipment and maintenance if you use laser cutting. In the mid-'70s, Mark left Tower Hobbies to start a different business on his own. If you've ever worked with steel rule die cutting equipment, you'd know what a PITA labor intensive job it is to keep it sharp and cutting properly on standard backer board, never mind balsa and plywood (remember the Sterling and Comet "die smashed" kits?). They own the designs and the rights to the kits, but didn't purchase the building or the tooling within the building. Same rubbish on your website with indications that product has been discontinued when it is Horizon that has discontinued carrying it and it is still available from other sources. Transparency does not seem to be your/horizon's strong suit. Not some unknown party has discontinued production. State that you have decided to discontinue the Goldberg/Great Planes Eagle II. The post above this (25) indicates the same hogwash. It is Horizon that decides whether they will be made therefore of course you would stock them if YOU made them or managed the manufacture of them. but not the manufacturing facility(so whether you make them or manage their manufacture, you are the deciding factor). The point I made was that Horizon stated that they would stock them if they were made(no indication of by who). Actually I think it's an advantage because it means not being tied down. We didn't get the building, but that's not a problem in the least. Shoot, half their products were originally produced far from Urbana. Build a scale plane already Horizon killed Tower Horizon was shut down over the holiday to revamp systems. Horizon killed Tower Last edited by PandB RC at 02:46 PM. If they send 500,000 orders every year on average, 53 complaints makes up for 0.We don't have to make the kits in the same building. They did list the exact dates that this was taking place but due to CRS I can't remember what the dates are. All Horizon has to do is respond to those complaints with the BBB and the BBB will flag them as completed and put them back up to 5 stars, it's honestly a waste of time for anyone.ĥ3 complaints in a year is truthfully insignificant for a large company like Horizon, when they send out hundreds of thousands of orders annually. They're truthfully just a dumping ground for customer complaints that could be as minor as my tracking says I should've got it today but it won't deliver until tomorrow. Having a background with various hobby companies, I can confidently say the BBB is merely just a feel good company that has no real relevancy anymore, and they don't do anything to better customer experiences or companies. Look for my inventory of Horizon planes in the classifieds. Google Horizon Hobby BBB and see for yourself. ![]() If that forces me out if the hobby, so be it! Thousands of dollars invested in products with a company incapable of supporting them. ![]() From this point forward I will never buy anything from Horizon or their subsidiaries. Obviously they are overwhelmed with complaints, as the primary function of the automated system response is to discourage you from lodging a complaint. In going through the motions with them, including a call to the corprate office I noticed a very disturbing trend. I have not dealt with worse customer service than HH. They have a 1.4 star rating, and received an "F" grade with the BBB. The number of complaints received against them is 53 for this year. I filed a BBB complaint on Hirizon this morning.
